At the Brass Rail

One of London’s most famous delis, Selfridge’s The Brass Rail is a shrine to all things salt beef. Last year it got a brand new look and a new ordering system but the salt beef – supplied by Hensons for many years – remains the same as it ever was. Deliciously pink and served in generous juicy slabs. The Brass Rail salt beef sandwich is a classic.


Ingredients
Hot salt beef
Rye bread
English or American mustard
A whole sliced gherkin


Method

  • Just layer hot salt beef on fresh rye bread and slather with the mustard of
    your choosing.
  • Add a whole sliced gherkin on the side to serve.
