Reuben, we love you

Reuben vs Rachel? These two classic sandwiches originate from the US. Both sandwiches include salt beef, swiss cheese and Russian dressing.The Reuben is served on dark rye bread with sauerkraut while the Rachel is served on sourdough with a creamy coleslaw. For the perfect result, always make sure the cheese is melted and the bread is grilled. A Rachel is delicious, but our heart belongs to Reuben.


 

Ingredients

  • Good quality dark rye bread
  • Salt beef
  • Emmental cheese
  • Russian dressing (mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, mustard, salt, pepper)Sauerkraut
  • Mustard

 


 

Method

  • Slice and toast the rye bread,
  • Spread thinly with mustard, add Sauerkraut (ensure its not too wet)
  • Slice your salt beef and place on top of Sauerkraut, add Russian dressing, add emmental cheese
  • Place under grill until cheese is melted
  • Close sandwich with second slice of toasted rye bread
  • EAT!
